| Reason: This species has an extremely specialized habitat requirement and as a result is only known from in New Mexico from a small area in the south central portion of the state. The species has a small Extent of Occurrence of just 1,731km2 and an Area of Occupancy of just 4km2. Furthermore, the species is only known from four occurrences in the state. There are also several major potential threats to the species continued survival most prominently drought and climate change. However, more research is needed on these threats. As a result of all of this the species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico however, if more information becomes available a reassesment should be done. |
