| Reason: This species has a relatively large Extent of Occurrence in New Mexico of 42,068km2 however, it has rarely been observed within that range and so its Area of Occupancy is just 9km2 and it is only known from 6 occurrences. The threats to this species are unknown and so is the life history which makes inferring threats difficult. However, many other Perdita are threatened by the rapid warming and drying currently occurring in the desert southwest. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico however, a reassessment should be done if more information becomes available. |
