| Reason: Little is known about this small bee species however, it seems to have a relatively wide range in New Mexico with an Extent of Occurrence of 33,040km2. However, it has a relatively small Area of Occupancy of just 10km2. This may be due to a lack of surveying or the fact that the species is small and difficult to identify but could also indicate rarity, decline, or habitat specialization. Furthermore, the species is only known from six occurrences. The threats to the species are currently unknown however, likely the species is threatened by drought and climate change which covers a wide range and could extirpate this species in New Mexico fairly quickly. As a result, this poorly known species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico. However, a reassesment should be done if more information becomes available. |
