Reason: <p>Chrysina woodi is an uncommon species endemic to the southwest region. It is known from small mountainous areas in western Texas and southern New Mexico. It is threatened by overcollection by taxidermy enthusiasts outside of protected lands, and by climate change decreasing the size of its high elevation habitat everywhere. Furthermore, the species has a relatively small Area of Occupancy and is considered by some experts to be at considerable risk of extinction. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S2 in New Mexico however, a reassessment should be completed if more information becomes available. </p>
