| Reason: Spilomyia kahli as a pollinating fly in the Syrphidae family. It is found in montane habitats of New Mexico, Arizona, West Texas, and northern Mexico. Little is known about this poorly studied species. With only two known occurrences in New Mexico it is possible that this species is quite rare and threatened in New Mexico. However, this species could potentially have a very restricted area of occupancy meaning that one threat could drive it to extinction in a short amount of time. With no understanding of the threats to this species it is possible that it is already heavily threatened especially by climate change given its montane distribution. However, research on distribution, population size and trend, and threats is needed to ensure populations are stable. Until then this species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico however, a reassessment should be done as more information becomes available. |

| Specificity: Unknown | Range Extent: <100 square km (less than about 40 square miles) |
| Occurences: 1 - 5 | Population Size: Unknown |
| Area of Occupancy: Only two occurrence records are known from New Mexico although in reality this number is likely much higher as one of these points is from the Magdalena Mountains and the other from the Manzanos. Which are seperated by quite a distance and both would likely have quite a bit of habitat. | Threat Summary: N/A |
