Reason: This species has a very large Extent of Occurrence of 223,318km2 when using data from iNaturalist and a high Area of Occupancy of 568km2 when a 1km2 grid cell is used. Furthermore, the species is known from many occurrences. However, it is thought to be declining across its range and is highly threatened however, more research is needed on the population trends and threats in New Mexico. The species also had a positive 90 day finding for a federal endangered species listing and is a Species of Greatest Conservation Need in New Mexico. As a result, the species is currently assessed as S3 in New Mexico. However, a reassessment is needed if more information becomes available.
