| Reason: There are very few known occurrence records for this species and the last was made in 1976 and in New Mexico it has not been seen since 1966. The population size and trend are not known for this species. However, in light of the conservation attention this species has received, efforts should be made to determine the population size and trend. This species also has an inferred continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat as the southwestern United States and northern Mexico become more arid due to climate change and further stress is placed upon the riparian systems. As a result, the Bonita Diving Beetle is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico. However, a reassessment should be done if more information becomes available. |

| Area of Occupancy: This species has only been observed at two locations in New Mexico with nine specimens being collected between the two. However, recent attempts to relocate the species at these locations have failed and an Area of Occupancy calculated from these two sites is just 2km2. However, more extensive surveying is needed as this beetle may be present in more locations. | Threat Summary: N/A |
