| Reason: This species is only known from a very small area of southeastern New Mexico which gives it a small Extent of Occurrence, Area of Occupancy, and number of occurrences. The life history and threats to this species are unknown and more research is needed on this subject. As a cave obligate it is likely threatened by drought, warming, and abstraction of ground water. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico however, a reassessment is needed if more information becomes available on this poorly known species. |
