| Reason: This species is only known from one occurrence in New Mexico which is the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. As a result, the species has an Extent of Occurrence and Area of Occupancy of 1km2. This species is also only known from one occurrence. This potentially makes the species extremely rare and threatened. The life history of this species and the threats to it are not known however, many other Perdita are threatened by the rapid warming and drying of the southwestern United States. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico. However, a reassement should be done if more information becomes available on this poorly known species. |
