| Reason: This species has only been seen once in 1895 when it was collected and described. This gives the species an Extent of Occurrence and Area of Occupancy of just 1km2. Furthermore, this species is only known from one occurrence. The species also has not been seen in over 100 years and so it may or may not even still be extent. The life history of this species is unknown and the threats are also unknown. However, many other Perdita species are threatened by the rapid warming and drying of the southwestern United States. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico. However, a reassesment should be done if more information becomes available. |
