| Reason: This species currently has a small Extent of Occurrence of just 3,152km2 in New Mexico and an Area of Occupancy of just 6km2. Furthermore the species is only known from four occurrences. Although little surveying has occurred and the species is small and difficult to identify. Further, surveying is likely to identify more localities and increase the Extent of Occurrence, Area of Occupancy and number of occurrences for the species although it does have a specialized habitat requirement. While more research is needed on the threats to this species there are several possible threats to the continued existance of this species. As a result, this poorly known species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico however, if more information becomes available a reassesment is needed. |
