| Reason: This species historically has been recorded in many different New Mexico localities which has given it a fairly large Extent of Occurrence of 39,525km2. However, it is very infrequently recorded and as a result has an Area of Occupancy of just 18km2 and is only known from eleven occurrences. Additionally, the species has only been recorded once in the last two decades although it is unlikely that much surveying has been done. This one record was picked up at the Sevilleta National Wildlife Redufe which has a robust bee monitoring program and despite that they have only picked up the species one time. The threats to it are currently unknown but it is likely threatened by climate change and drought both of which are severe in the species range. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S2 in New Mexico however, a reassesment should be done if more information becomes available. |
