Reason: This species is known only from New Mexico, in the United States. It has been collected only four times in three general localities (near Mimbres, Silver City, and Carrizozo), in various desert habitats. This species is likely ground nesting and may specialize on the pollen of plants in the daisy family (Asteraceae). The threats are not well understood, though increased wildfire severity and drought due to climate warming are likely threats. The extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) could be as low as 3884 and 4 km<sup>2</sup>, respectively. However, given the lack of survey effort, these parameters are likely underestimated. The species may be found in as few as three occurrences. Severe catastrophic wildfire is likely the most consequential threat at two proximate localities in the Mimbres Mountains and drought is likely the largest threat to the other two localities, which are each counted as their own location. Continuing decline in quality of habitat due to increasing drought and long term fire suppression practices is inferred. Therefore, the species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico. However, a reassesment should be done if more information becomes available.
