| Reason: Osmia watsoni is a small and seemingly range restricted bee species in New Mexico. It is known from just three occurrences in the state and only has been recently observed at one of them which is the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. The species also has a small Extent of Occurrence of just 2,257km2 and an Area of Occupancy of just 10km2 using all known occurrence records. At the one current occurrence at the Sevilleta 20 years of monitoring data showed a 80% decline in the species population there likely due to the threats of climate change and drought. As a result, this species is currently assessed as S1 in New Mexico. |
